NSCDC deploys 3,600 officers for tomorrow’s elections

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kaduna State Command, has deployed no fewer than 3,600 personnel for tomorrow’s Presidential and National Assembly elections, urging them to remain apolitical and exercise professionalism in the discharge of their duties during polls.

Addressing the personnel of the command of the polls, the state commandant of the corps, Alhaji Modu Bunu, said the corps was ready to ensure the security of electorate, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, personnel, observers and materials.
According to him, officers and men must remain transparent and shun any form of inducement, warning that all of them would be responsible for their actions while on the field.
He said all personnel on the field were to work in synergy with other sister agencies to provide general security for electorate, officials and materials.
According to him, Nigerians and international community have high expectations on the conduct and performance of security agencies and must not be let down.
“Both local and international observers are looking unto us and we must do our best to shun any temptation, which may jeopardise the trust, instead, work assiduously and professionally to justify the confidence reposed in us,” he said.
